Well damn. She was so good tonight. Probably the best time I’ve seen her. I finally got to meet her again after the show and I told her how many times I’ve seen her live and I think she thought I was insane lol. She was super nice to me though and signed my stuff and took a socially distant photo with me. I’m very tempted to go again tomorrow even though I already have other plans haha.
She was pretty great last night -- at least as far as I can tell from when I was able to engage with the performance. It's pretty crazy how a single person can ruin an entire experience for you. Two way-too-drunk guys in matching Bonaroo shirts squeezed their way right in front of us right as she went on and just had absolutely no awareness of their personal space the entire night, almost falling over backwards every few minutes, fist pumping and nearly elbowing people in the head, and literally throwing their empties (and once not-so-empty) across the room. We spent the first half trying to edge them out and just hoping they'd get tired and go away and the second half just trying to get away from them.
That’s a huge bummer. Luckily there was no one like that at my show. I can attest that she was probably great though because she killed it at my show. I’m sure she will be back next year and you can catch her in a better environment!
She’s on this new documentary coming out on Paramount+ next month about Don McLean’s song American Pie
She played another story in the studio with Mura Masa, I’m assuming they’re producing her new album. She said new music soon as well. I don’t know anything about Maura Masa but I am hyped. Last album was great IMHO.
They were engaged but I think they broke up, they unfollowed each other on social media and he moved to Nashville while she moved to Los Angeles. I thought about putting ex-guitarist but nothing is confirmed/it's veering towards speculation so I just left it at guitarist haha.
