Dunn was the first celeb death that really impacted me. I really don't know why. Also Knoxville has to be placed in the same category as Steve-O. Some of the shit was willing to do goes beyond what anyone else would have. Blindfolded being runover by bulls is terrifying.
Knoxville is a genius and his level of both performance and stunt work is unmatched. Pontius was really excellent in Sofia Coppola’s Somewhere.
Really love most of the cast. Knoxville and Steve-O have definitely aged the best - I actually went to Steve-O's standup tour in 2019 and met him afterwards, he was really nice.
I always thought Bam was a massive asshole, he was always my least favorite in all of the movies lol Knoxville is my favorite but Pontius is a close second, the dumbass jokes he makes all the time kill me
I don't know how they decide who performs the skits versus who writes them, but the Margera pranks against his family were never that entertaining. So many of the stunts were truly inspired so it always felt like a Tom Green retread when they would do stuff like play their guitars in drums in his parent's bedroom.
That's a bummer, I've always just assumed he was great because he's sober now and come a long way but he's also been lauded as this recovery hero which can really easily boost the ego and make someone afflicted with addiction an egotistical asshole
All the films blend together for me. I can't remember specifically which was which. The skit I have watched the most though is either Jared Allen sacking Johnny Knoxville or the airplane blowing people away.
Yeah, from what I recall of the story he was making egotistical remarks about the whole situation and basically talking down to everyone/how he talked about addicts in general.
The skit where they replace Phil with Preston in the middle of the night and then wake April up — that’s an all timer
Steveo has become my number one over the last 5 years. He used to be my #2 until Bam became a douche.
I was a big fan of Bam when I was a kid and Jackass/VLB were first airing, but I went back and watched some stuff a couple weeks ago and he was probably my least favorite. Not like I hate him or anything, and he was basically just a kid, but yeah. Knoxville, on the other hand-- what an absolute legend. I appreciate him way more now.
I rewatched the first movie a few months back (the day trump got covid lol) and Knoxville getting shot with the beanbag gun. Genuine fear on his face for that
Knoxville is an actual lunatic in the best possible way. He manically laughs every time he's hurt or faces serious danger and you can tell it's genuine, and it kills me every time. I would love to meet that guy
I read Steve-Os book a few years ago and it’s as nuts as you imagine it is. I’m glad the guy cleaned up his life and is still producing quality entertainment.
I remember listening to Steve-O a week before his sober date in 2006 on Howard Stern. I can't even describe what a mess he was, he could not articulate one full sentence and would just laugh every 3 seconds. Then I heard he got placed in a mental health facility a week later.
best movie of the three for me was definetly the original. I remember being so pissed when I went to see it opening night and every showing was sold out. Had to wait another 24 hours to see it. The entire theater cracked up. I remember going to NYC the next weekend just to find a bootleg copy of it to buy on the streets. The golf karts, rent a car rally, dunns tiny toy car, golf air horns (i think that was parts 1), and so many other amazing skits.
