Oh yea MGK trying to play up how cold the water felt like it was some wild stunt was probably the one moment where there wasn't laughter in the theater
I realized (after I agreed that Pontius didn't do much) that he was also in the marching band treadmill skit. I wonder if he sort of noped out of the dangerous stuff after that considering Knoxville and Steve-O were hospitalized on like the second day of filming lol. Also agree with everyone's sentiments about MGK's bit. He had like 0 chemistry with the cast and the whole skit was awkward. His complaints about the cold water were also strange. Like, this is Jackass. Steve-O just made a beehive on his junk... Cold water isn't going to cut it if you're trying to make us feel sorry for you.
a bunch of people probably terrified of getting splinters posting that chris pontius didn’t debase himself enough. chorus dot fm.
I got a dog hair splinter in my foot once and it really hurt to walk for a few days until I realized what it was
This must be where they got inspiration for the "everybody gets under the ramp bit' Nick Merlino is the one who tried to skate over them and absolutely destroys himself...Speaking of Nick Merlino go watch King of the Road Season 3, he's hilarious in it:
I also laughed at Pontius going "I cannot remove the scorpion from your boob without your permission."
The Pontius urge to crack a joke as he’s surrounded by his slack jawed friends and Knoxville’s entirely inanimate body after being slammed by a bull is the kind of high you just can’t get anywhere else
i think Dave Gravette and Jaws are in that season as well, I was excited to see them in the movie. Merlino’s diaper hill bomb definitely feels like a jackass sketch
Finally sitting down to watch this and I’m the only one in the theater. I’m happy as far as safety goes but half the fun of these is the audience reaction..lol
Honestly I think my favorite part of this was panning to pontius dancing in the robe in the night vision snake bit lol
Shit this might be the first movie i have a urge to see in the theaters since the pandemic started. Jackass movies in the theater are really something special. I have a vivid memory of coming out of theatre after seeing the first Jackass movie with my dad at age 14, seeing someone in a cow costume promoting Chik-Fil-A, and us both being like "i kind of have an urge to tackle them " due to the bit where they're in Tokyo in costumes tackling eachother in public.
