I’ll never forget buying this cd when it came out while awaiting the arrival of hurricane katrina and being just absolutely overwhelmed with fear because my dad lived in New Orleans at the time and was stuck over there.
So deserved! Andrew's music should be more out there for sure! Hopefully his book is going to be a hit and people would fall back on his discography. Capable of leaving a strong mark of memories with every release!
I have such a strange relationship with this album. This album is one of those albums that legitimately defines a period of my life (similar with YCs Ocean Avenue), but the people who I associate so much with this album and the songs are mostly completely out of my life at this point so listening can be very bittersweet/uncomfortable at times but, i could never ever let this album go.
That feels simillar, but well, I try to find something dear to my heart in all of that, it's still something! and I can overlap some of that with new memories. But those were definitely the years when I really could attach lots of things to given albums!
