J. Cole - The Off-Season (May 14, 2021)

Both of these songs are GREAT, I have high hopes for this one

The Climb Back is great. I've listened to it probably 6-7 times now and I pick out something new each listen. Love the line "check out my projects like them workers that Section 8 appoints / And you'll see how I flipped like exclamation points".

I guess I just won't ever connect to J Cole, these are both good songs but so forgettable the second they end. The production is so non descript and there's no real hooks anywhere. I suppose his biggest draw is lyrically, but I'm never really impresssed.

Rumor on the internet is that tonight is the night. Two of his previous records dropped on 12/9 and Zane Lowe was teasing a surprise release for this evening (the artist will be on his show tomorrow).

Unreleased video for Fire Squad from 2014FHD dropped today at least. No idea why this wouldn't come out

Done, though The Fall Off is still an album that he has coming apparently.

Super stoked, I have a good feeling about this album after his killer feature run the last couple years

 

Interesting first song to release but works really well as a teaser, really cool little track

 

He's taking the DGAF approach to this rollout. Song didn't even get included on my Release Radar on Spotify.

Cool watch. Got me really excited for this album and his other upcoming shit. It seems like he's calling this whole era "The Fall Off" with this, It's a Boy and the title album making it up and then him seemingly retiring (at least from making albums)
