It's a really solid headphone album too, lots of great AG Cook production

I loved Shiver. It’s one of my favorites from last year. I bet this is just going to be an ambient side-project-type album, though

skimmed through some of Obsidian and while it does seem more ambient, I did hear vocals and did hear some beat driven stuff, just briefly skimmed but sounds interesting. An hour and 7 min total

Enjoying Obsidian a lot more than Shiver. It's kind of more like a Sigur Ros album than a Jonsi one, to me. Has that "look up at the night sky and contemplate how small you are" kind of thing they've always been great at.

I was going to say that Obsidion feels a lot like Sigur Ros than a solo album, I'm in the middle of it right now and it's pretty cool.

I was *also* going to say that this sounds more like a Sigur Ros album, haha. Sounding really cool. The harp at the end of "Ambrox" is is gorgeous.

been relistening to Go the last few days. the percussion on this album is mindblowing, coupled with the woodwind instruments and Jonsi's perfect voice it actually feels overwhelming at times. definitely an underrated, possibly flawless record

Go is tied for my favorite album of all time. It’s out of this world and I never hear (read actually) anyone talk about it ever

It's a very, very fantastic album. Hugely emotional for me.

Some people I’ve seen discuss Shiver said they were surprise at the direction it went in, but listening to Go it doesn’t surprise me at all. They are both so maximalist.

I think I largely prefer Go’s hope and optimism. Shiver did not stick with me. I’ll try it again this week though.

Something about the chorus of 'Mold' reminds me of Go even though it doesn't sound very similar. It feels like the closest hint toward that sound from the Shiver era

  16. I think that’s why I preferred Shiver. Optimistic music isn’t as impactful to me and no I will not be discussing this with my therapist

I think Go is a lot better than Shiver, even putting aside the lighter side of it, it's more focused and consistent, like Jonsi knew what album he wanted to make. Shiver kind of meanders and has a lot of ideas in there, but it just doesn't work as well as whole imo

I really love Shiver but Go is the one for me. I can see people being put off by it’s manic optimism, though
