I actually quite liked this episode for what it was

are we supposed to assume that Dennis is back for good or that he’ll have more of a guest star kind of role this season? either way I was very happy to see him again

 

I absolutely loved the premiere.

I love them ignoring Mac at the dinner table

 

I know there are certain episodes such as the Wade Boggs sequel episode whose premise doesn’t involve him, so he could very possibly just have a more limited role either way. Too early to tell, I guess.

It was like this last season with Kaitlin filming The Mick. They didn’t write her out but she had a limited role in some episodes (“Old Lady House”) and didn’t really even appear in one (“A Cricket’s Tale”). Might be the same here.

 

Just got to "Mac Becomes A Serial Killer" or whatever that episode is called. Really funny episode but it's definitely a product of the time with Mac dating a trans woman and the jokes surrounding that. Loved the ending though, the chainsaw rip to end the episode was perfect.

 

Simply amazing

 

Yeah the old trans jokes are always jarring to me but that episode was absolutely hilarious over-all, especially that chainsaw rip lmao.

 

Mac is a Serial Killer is actually the first episode I ever saw. I was hooked immediately lol

 

I always thought the "trans jokes" weren't so much that...more showing the ridiculousness of the character's own lines of thinking.

 

yeah, it’s almost as if people forget that these characters exhibit traits of how not to be or something

 

Oh no, I'm well aware. They're still jarring for me to hear even if the characters are meant to be bad people

 

that’s more than fair. just felt it needed to be said

 

I think The Gang Gives Frank an Intervention is my favorite episode. It’s peak Frank with some of his best lines. I lose it when he’s walking with Mac, Mac says something, and he goes “whoa when did you get here?!”

 

I think it was a different time, they clearly made it that Mac was dating Carmen because he's gay and at the time it wasn't as egregious

I don't think it was the gang being assholes , it was them creatively being transphobic

 

That one is definitely top 3 for me. Honestly the most quoted among my friend group. I mentioned earlier the line about Frank charging the "fire" with his gun out, but I also love right after that when Frank believes he's being roasted by the therapist. The confused look on his face followed by, "She ain't funny. NEXT!" kills me.

Also when Charlie is trying to downplay how weird Nightcrawlers is and Frank totally undermines him and just says "Well, that's what it is." Cracks me up the whole time.

 

Yes that's an alltime great one. The whole intervention scene, in a bar, drinking wine out of a can, and yelling at him, is just Sunny at its finest and the characters at their most self-involved and dumb. I love every second of that scene. And then the Snail comes in and gets salted. So great.

It always reminds me of the Seinfeld festivus celebration episode, the airing of the grievances. - "I'VE GOT A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH YOU PEOPLE"
