Yeah this is weird. I didn't think anything of it when they announced that show and RCG were producers on it but the fact that all three of them are starring on it is just bizarre
I'm kind of ok with it. I think last season was the first time I was ever underwhelmed by a season so if they need to take some time away it'll hopefully benefit the show.
It seems weird that they would do a tamer sitcom in response to being "sick of doing Sunny". They have almost full control with Sunny, it's really the absolute best situation for comedic writers/actors. Now if they want more money, that makes sense. Or if they wanted to launch a movie career or act in a drama role (Glen w/ Fargo), that also would be understandable. With that said, they are probably really efficient with writing 10 episodes of Sunny every year. That can't possibly take up all their time. So the decision to take a hiatus might have something to do with a general disinterest in characters going on 13 seasons.
Actually, I looked into it more. It's just NME being shitty at reporting. The Deadline link that they refer to states absolutely nothing about the cast.
the rest of the article makes it sound like it's mostly Charlie out of the three who is involved, too.
