I'd also rather take a delay to give NBC time to cancel Glenn's new show than have them write Dennis off the show.
Sucks to think there won't be any Sunny anytime soon, but honestly, this shows been on for so many seasons at this point, that any new episodes are just a bonus for me. haha. Do not blame them for finally taking a break after all this time.
Just push the show back to the Fall season like it used to be on. Seems like the ratings have suffered since they moved to January anyway. Instead of January 2018, I'm good with it returning Fall 2018 TBH.
Yeah I think that the earliest we can hope for is Fall '18, but I'm betting Spring '19 is more likely. Also the ratings hit was more a result of moving to FXX than it was from moving to Spring, I thought.
We're all used to not having Sunny around. They've been doing 10 episode seasons forever, which makes the seasons fly by. I'm not against it at all. I just want them to come back when they feel inspired to come back.
Yeah, I don't really have a problem with this either. This season was the weakest one for me (still good overall) and hopefully the extra time off will get everyone to recharge their batteries
Damn it's become kind of a tradition for me to do a full rewatch every winter break to get ready for the show returning. Gonna be weird not doing that this year
I wish the season 11 DVD would come out. I have the other 10 on my shelf and I don't want some Simpsons bullshit where they end the DVDs at season 17.
It's not coming out, you have to order a DVD-R right from Amazon now. I guess the normal DVDs with bonus features weren't profitable anymore https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LTI1JZQ/?tag=absolutepunk-20
Is there anywhere to buy HD downloads of later seasons after S8, when they stopped Blu Rays? I've looked multiple times and never find anything other than the laughable "buy streaming access for $1.99/ep" on Amazon/Google. It's like they're begging me to pirate.
Now DeVito has signed on to a new show. Starting to sound like there may not ever be another season of Sunny between this, Glenn, the delay, and Kaitlin on The Mick........no?
Seems more likely that the next season will be their last, or they're going to sporadically develop the show rather than consistently in Jan/Fall
They have to do at least two more seasons, per their contract with FX. I don't see FX just letting them out of it considering it's their biggest comedy series. Also, I don't know why they wouldn't want to at least do one more after that to break the longest-running live-action sitcom record, but who knows.
