Okay then I'm just dumb lmao. I just had some coworkers from there comment on how much wider our roads are I've been to Dublin, too, I should know better lol.
Wait so they did shoot some of it in Ireland? Now I'm confused too lol, I thought it was entirely shot in CA
i presume they had a crew film a bunch of shots in ireland with body doubles and then the gang was green screened in on sets when dee comes out of the bar she is opposite the aib bank on dame street (left) meaning she would have been coming out of the olympia theatre (right), but when the camera pans back to her she's on a set (middle) here the camera is pointing out onto the round and you can see that they're driving down fitzwilliam street, but when the camera switches back you can tell they're using a green screen for the background in the car what trinity college looks like in real life (left) vs the "trinity college" that mac and charlie are green screened in to "dennis" is driving down herbert street here, but if you look in the wing mirror you can see it's a body double
The stuff with Dee walking out and getting hit at the beginning of the first episode definitely looked like they had composited her into actual footage that was shot in Ireland. They may have worked with an Irish film crew to get the exterior shots (so nobody would have to travel internationally) they needed and then just put it all together with LA footage in post-production.
yeah, Dee and Dennis in the tower was absolutely top-tier shit. Dennis trying not to cough in the realtor is an all-timer for this show GO TO THE OLD BELL TOWER AND RING THE BELL, YOU BITCH
Its so weird how much Dee has become a punching bag. I know its always been the case, but every sentence ending in "you bitch!" is kind of obnoxious and feels lazy.
I know she basically has stockholm syndrome at this point but why would you spend all your time with your shitty brother who calls you ugly haha, it made more sense that she tolerated Mac and Dennis because Charlie rules
Its so weird how the audience for the show drops off given the episodes air back to back. 50K people commit to the first episode and bail during the second? I can understand last week, but week one and three were both solid first episodes.
How much do you think this can be attributed to people just not even realizing there is another episode airing right after they finish the first one? Finally got around to watching the two newest episodes. Holy shit this is great. This almost feels like a series finale or like it could have been the plot of the Always Sunny movie they always talked about doing.
What do we think is going to happen with Charlie’s plot involving his dad? The guy has the same last name as Charlie’s mom and uncle which should raise some questions for all of them... I’m guessing he ends up being a relative of some sort and it’s a misunderstanding/trick by Charlie’s mom. It’ll also probably still be ambiguous whether or not Frank is his real dad once we get to the end.
I’m wondering if some shots may have been stock footage as well. The Four Courts is in an early montage, and it was under construction with scaffolding all over until sometime earlier this year. So they either shot that footage fairly late in the process, or it’s from years ago before the restoration began.
Potential spoilers if my guess is right The finale "The Gang Carries a Corpse Up a Mountain" is about Charlie trying to honor a dead body, who I am almost certain will be Shelly. My theory is Dennis gives him COVID
I never knew until the newest podcast episode that Glenn ACTUALLY got rear ended while eating a bowl of cereal behind the wheel.
