12 is a top 5 season. I didn't love 11 when it came out, but it's grown on me a lot

 

This was a HUGE improvement on S13, which imo was the first noticeably weak season of the show

 

Started a rewatch yesterday and I’d forgotten just how ridiculous they were at the beginning. They would NOT be able to get away with a lot of seasons 1 and 2 today.

Related: I forgot how dark the ending of Mac Bangs Dennis’ Mom was. Whole episode is nuts haha.

 

The first couple are absolute gold. I was hooked from the beginning. I feel like they could still get away with it because of the way it's written. It's just making fun of terrible people.

 

In the literal first episode of the show Charlie says the N-word still blows my mind lol

This show has always, always been able to frame every single thing they do as a joke on the Gang (or on other similarly terrible people, like the McPoyles or Bill Ponderosa). The joke is never on the normal/decent people that the Gang interacts with.

Yep, exactly why they can get away with almost anything. Haha you're not really supposed to like them.

Yeah wow I didn't remember that either, and his SNL collection was one of the first videos I bought for my iPod Video years ago
