Rewatching the season and I gotta say, pausing during the zoo episode to read Mac’s long winded texts to Dennis is absolutely crucial

 

Great season. Did not care for the Laser Tag episode neeearrrly as much as you guys did though

 

LOL I did this when I rewatched the episode, and they’re spectacularly detailed and quintessentially Mac.

I know this gets talked about a lot in here but I think I’ve finally settled on season 5 being the best season. Lots of classic episodes in there.

 

Season 12 might be my fav tbh

 

Way too hard to pick a specific season but I think 10 through 12 have my favorite episodes which is wild to say because most shows are garbage by that point

 

Yeah I can't pick a favorite with this show, the single digit seasons are remarkably consistent and the only overall weak season at all is 13, which still has two (arguably three) classics imo

First time a season ended without having been renewed.

 

Wouldn't get too worried, bet some higher ups changed, what with being owned by Disney now

 

Ehh, yeah I’m not worried one bit. John Landgraf is still head of FX and it seems the newly coined Disney Televisions group that oversees 20th TV and Abc studios is now mainly spearheaded by ex fox people.

 

I just bet we probably won’t get any episodes in 2020.

 

I think with this show it all comes down to whether the gang still wants to do it. And last we heard they still seem to want to do it. It might not be next year but I very much doubt we’ve seen the last of them. I don’t think this is going to be a show where they don’t do a planned final season with a finale that wraps the show up properly. Waiting For Big Mo is an amazing episode and actually would be kind of fitting as a series finale but I would like to see what they do with a real, planned finale.

 

How many things can Rob McElhenney be talented at? It’s not fair.

This was probably the best season since like 8 IMO

 

I think 9 has a case for being the best season period though lol

There is a power gap after season 7 of this show, and the best seasons remain firmly before it

 

I do agree that there's a large creative shift after season 7, but 9 and 12 are definitely two of my favorite seasons
