Wait so Bob Gray's daughter is the weird naked old lady from Chapter 2 ? I should have realized that earlier in the season but I didn't make that connection until the morning after the finale
really leaned into this with that awful "dark meat" line unfortunately lol this was fine. I couldn't see a thing during the entire middle setpiece because of the fog effects so I just zoned out during what felt like 20 minutes of the kids slowly walking a rock to a tree. really hard to overstate how silly the whole dagger thing was, I bet the kids in the movies feel dumb defeating It with belief and self sacrifice when they coulda just used the magical mcguffin rock I'm glad she got a happy ending because I really liked the character, but leaving Lilly's story there when she has nothing to do with the movies is pretty wild stuff. everyone else's endings dovetail nicely with Chapter One and Lilly just sits the whole thing out I guess
Even one of the kids in the behind the scenes said the rock to tree scene was a lot and took forever lol. This is maybe a dumb question but while pennywise was frozen could they have not stabbed him with the shard?
Alright starting this now to see how I like it. Sat here looking at the soldier for the entire first scene he was in trying to figure out where I know him from. It’s the first time I realized that Michael Murphy from The Leftovers was also the protagonist in Overlord lol. Not sure how I never realized that
Enjoyed the first episode, got a little distracted in the middle but it wasn't so terribly boring or anything. Opening and closing scenes were nuts lol, was not expecting that at all
That finale was awesome. Doubles down on the vision for the series, the mythology, and the connection to previous works. Also the best CGI of the show, which has been pretty bad at times. They definitely saved the best for last haha
alright, I'm not trying to be a party pooper here, and I even thought I was being a bit of turd about the first two episodes, so I tried to watch the third one. what the hell? the kid goes in the woods and there's just a skinny old guy with one eye (maybe?) who can jump from tree to tree, but it's clearly supposed to be scary because of the ridiculous music & loud noises. then he starts chasing the kid and his body gets weird so they switch to some of the most horrendous CGI I've ever seen in something made with an actual budget. this shit looks like the clips I've seen on YouTube of The Flash movie I've been seeing some cool clips of Pennywise online and I really wanted to try to give this a chance, but it's really not for me - too much boring garbage and nonsense
I also just watched the 3rd episode and my impression from what i've seen of the newer movies is, isn't this kind of par for the course for It/Pennywise? He shows up as what people fear or whatever? That part wasn't too bad for me, it was more the graveyard scene with the kids with all the ghosts popping up, that felt like I was riding the Haunted Mansion ride at Disney or something lol Really intrigued by Dick Halloran and his interactions with Hanlon
I didn't make it that far - I turned this off after the old guy in the woods I wish par for the course wasn't just terrible CGI and loud music / loud noises on the soundtrack
the cgi isn't really that bad after the graveyard scene, which i thought was kinda meant to be silly in the first place
That's what I couldn't tell, if it was supposed to be silly-ish or if ti was just a budget thing. Cause tone wise it seemed a bit different than the other scares so far lol
Still think the CGI on the Marge eye scene was the most atrocious of the season, kinda surprised how many people thought it was awesome.
The second half of the season certainly cooks with gas. Even if I think the military storyline was ultimately a bit of a wet fart amongst the great character work with the kids and adults.
Trying to get my zoomer coworker who loved the show and the IT films to watch The Shining and Doctor Sleep next.
