Them incorporating the locked box stuff from Doctor Sleep was really cool. I knew we were going to get plot devices from other King works in this, but I honestly didn't expect a major reference to that one. Although it does make perfect sense.
The buildup of the first part of this episode was a drag but the sewer scene was what I have been waiting for this whole season. Took them long enough. Now it feels like It's got some momentum and going somewhere interesting. Ending of the episode was cool too.
The twist in this where the one weird white lady was orchestrating everything as a human agent of Pennywise because IT took the form of her dead father (the actual Pennywise the clown) was kinda neat.
I feel like that Cuban kid is definitely going to die. Things ended way too happy for him this episode.
Also feel like Will's mom and Ronnie's dad are also goners too. Next week is gonna have a crazy body count. All we know about what will happen next week from the book is: Halloran uses his abilities to rescue Will from the fire
Oh there is one thing I called earlier in the thread that I am 100% sure of now. Marge is Richie Tozier's mom. Richie was named after Rich. I think they even call him Richie at one point this episode. I dunno why I never made the Rich-Richie connection until now.
Arian S. Cartaya really knocked it out of the park this ep imo. A kid so young grasping that emotion and tenderness is pretty wild.
The Black Spot episode is 9.5 on IMDB and it earns it. I thought it successfully accomplished a lot in an hour with the Bob Gray backstory, The Black Spot attack, and the military motive reveal. But that heartbreaking middle was excruciating in the best way. The Muschietti’s are cooking with this show. Can’t wait to for the finale!
That moment was great, but I don't think they built Marge and Rich's relationship enough throughout the season before that moment.
