It's definitely one of the scarier movies I've ever seen. We all have different things that scare us so its weird to argue over.
I honestly can't make sense of it. It more than doubled the numbers of Paranormal Activity AND was rated R. Crazy.
I've been on the fence about seeing this but at the very least it sounds like it'd be a fun time, and there's no way it's worse than the mini series
I thought this was great. Tone is all over the place, but it worked for me. The kids were hilarious and fun to watch. I really enjoyed all the scares and set pieces, even though I'd say nothing really terrified me. Really enjoyed the effect of real life horrors often being scarier than the supernatural horrors.
Horror is a pretty subjective genre, there's nothing wrong with thinking this is scarier than other films you've seen. What doesn't scare you can scare someone else, nothing wrong with that.
The "you look like Lois Lane." was exquisitely creepy. Both times I've seen the movie, the audience reacts pretty forcefully to that. As was that last flash of annoyance / anger before he bent over to pick up the items. One of the many little flourishes I truly enjoyed.
I've seen it twice now and I wasn't sure if I saw her kind of nodding down with a creepy glare in the background, but her presence in the background definitely made me feel uneasy.
http://www.vulture.com/2017/09/director-andy-muschietti-shares-details-about-the-it-sequel.html Interesting to see Andy's take on what Mike becomes. Really hoping they expand the character in the sequel and it sounds like they are.
I honestly do not understand the rave reviews. Everything that didn't have to do with Pennywise or the scares was cool. Like, I enjoyed the chemistry between the kids and all that stuff, it was super funny, but this was not that good. In the car, will post more later
My buddies and I discussed this on the drive home and the more we talked about it the more we found that we didn't like. I'm sorry to rain on the parade, I was super excited for this movie but man, what a let down. I don't think the TV mini series is good either, so I'm not comparing it, but good lord, I long for Fukunaga's vision. I was very pleasantly surprised that three out of the five of us didn't like it though. I thought I was gonna be the Debbie downer
