Yeah, also gonna be skipping out on this round. The only song I really even come close to liking on this album is Wire Mom. Can I just vote for Wire Mom?

I get why people don't like this album as a whole, but its super weird that so many don't even find redeeming qualities in a couple of the song, especially 17 Coked Up and Speeding and Bret Easton

 

I'm skipping this album too. Nothing redeeming about it for me. I couldn't name a single song on it anyways, I just skimmed through the songs when it came out and nothing really jumped out and the production is grating

 

I agree that the production isn’t great but I actually like most of this album better than Hebrews lol. That being said it’s pretty forgettable to me and I had to run through it just now to remember what most of these songs were.

Also think people should re-visit Jiminy, I was surprised how much I liked that song just now.

 

Also have to shoutout #blessed, which is one of the catchiest choruses in all of this band’s later albums honestly. Too bad it’s up against 17 coked up, which is the winner of this album.

Coming from someone who is pretty casual about Say Anything I really like this album. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

Songs are awesome. Production is garbage. Still highly listenable to me and some of Max's most creative work.

Relistening to these confirms my suspicions: this album is way better than Hebrews.

 

Someday, I'll follow-up my original review and interview with a piece about the ways I've re-evaluated this record. Still far from my favorite, but 17 Coked Up Speeding and So Numb are particularly solid.
