Have you seen the movie? I think the main thing is that it's just ultimately a commentary on filmmaking and the industry. I loved the first episode and this is completely up my alley
I guess that is why its a miss for me. I thought it was going to be something just dealing with an actress going method and losing her mind. Kinda just found it boring.
Idk why I never replied to this but it could go that way? In small ways it does in the movie. But not really in any sort of dramatic, thriller way Based on this weeks episode I definitely think you need to watch the movie and read Oliver Assayas's wikipedia page before watching the series. I'm really really enjoying the show so far and this feels like the type of thing that's not a major spoiler and could hook someone into it, but there's a 10 minute section that's over-the-top Oliver Assayas being sad about divorcing Maggie Cheung in one of the most unsubtle scenes I've ever seen
The director arguing that his series is really just a long movie was such a good stab at the snobbery in still separating the forms.
