Yeah it would've been cool to expand on it a little more (I do like the extra stuff they did add), but part of what I like about Invincible War is how quick and disorienting it was. I think that does a lot to put the reader/viewer in the characters' shoes of not having the time to actually adapt to the situation or figure out a plan. Adding more onto it would give you time to get your footing, which I feel like goes against what Kirkman and crew had in mind

 

I forget, did Conquest show up this quickly after Invincible War in the comics?

 

Yup. That whole sequence was basically beat-for-beat from the comic, pacing-wise

 

Yeah that makes sense, I do remember Eve showing up with her broken leg now that I think about it

 

Just binged all of the third season so far. Super good. Really like how they’re taking time to build out backstories for so many of the characters, especially the villains.

 

I’m going to rewatch this week’s episode sometime this weekend. I knew what was coming thanks to me being overzealous and reading too many comic spoilers online, but GODDAMN.

 

The Billie needledrop was exceptional.

 

God this season was great. Really clear they saved their budget for the final two episodes. The animation during the Conquest fight is the best the show has ever looked by a mile

 

Yep they fucking nailed this one. Also love that the writers are getting more creative with Eve's powers. Big improvement from the comics.

Also, wtf, more Darkblood!? Cool shit

 

Apparently Kirkman wanted to do more stuff with hell in the comic, but never actually got around to it in the story. Seems like he's taking the chance to finally include it

 

JESUS FUCK

I was not ready for that.

 

Rad. Hope we get a more fleshed out glimpse of the future at the end of the series too

 

If what Kirkman has been saying recently about wanting to do 10 seasons is true, they'd probably have to expand on the flashes of story during the final issue

Got damn that was a fantastic season. Loved the Conquest fight

 

This season is what finally convinced me to buy the entire Invincible set. I ordered all three compendiums right before the finale aired, and it finally took until last week for #1 to actually show up. I’ve had such a fun time reading them and finding out all the things that were changed from the comic for the TV show.

 

Don't forget to buy the Invincible Universe Compendium as well!!

 

Ahh I still need to read that one too! Forgot there's more stuff in the Invincible universe aside from the main storyline

 

Isn't that exciting?! It certainly made me appreciate a lot of the C-list characters in Invincible. And it was cool to be like "wait, there's more!?"

I had a great time returning to that world. I highly recommend it!

Compendiums for Astounding Wolf-Man and Tech Jacket are coming out in December btw

 

Finished season 3 today, great stuff. Love this show.

 

Yeah, I finished season three a few days ago. Epic ending. I love these characters.

 

I’m halfway through compendium 2 and past the point in the comics that the show has covered. Holy shit, next season is going to be awesome.
