Then you aren't doing a good job expressing it haha.

If European countries want to be more friendly with Ukraine than Russia, and doesn't like Russia invading Ukraine, and would rather do business with other countries instead of Russia because of that, then that is their right IMO. It sucks and it's shitty but like...don't invade Ukraine lol

I just keep saying regional trade is good between natural trading partners.

Yes, in a vacuum it definitely is.

But if countries or peoples within that region start doing things that the majority of their region disagrees with, then that would risk harming that natural relationship. It gets harder to maintain those economic ties when the leader of a country is giving speeches talking about how evil you are lol.

    no, it's just good.

disrupting what should naturally be integrated trad. bad.

Yeah but starting a war tends to do that!

true. nobody wanted to prevent energy trade before natural trading partners prior to the war. :-/

True, but those efforts are much more successful when one of those partners goes and invades another country in the region:-/

actually can't think of a precedent for this where one cause of war is a country more than an ocean away trying to prevent trade in a region.

to return to the original point, regional trade integration good. blowing up infrastructure for that, bad. especially if one wants this war to end. "but not when..." no that's beside the point.

Well you’re trying to say it’s besides the point by pulling the “I’m only saying ____!” when your implied meaning isn’t very hard to suss out.

no one is saying regional trade is bad (though some protectionist lefties might!), they’re saying it’s perfectly reasonable for a country or group of countries to shift their trade priorities when someone else in their region is doing something they don’t like. European counties were just fine giving us the yeah sure okay on buying energy from Russia—-until Russia did something beyond the pale in their eyes. If we want that regional trade to take a step back in the right direction, we all know what would get that done fastest right now.

Taylor’s ex is fighting in Ukraine. Guess what family he belongs to.
Yea. The US has to stop interfering in regional trade.

What is the connection between what you are saying about regional trade with Russia and the fact that Taylor Swift's thrice-removed ex-boyfriend / John F. Kennedy's grandnephew volunteered to fight in Ukraine for a little while last year?

It's only a matter of time before they run too low on equipment for any kind of meaningful defense against the Ukrainian offensive this year
