Amazing album, easily his best since Proper (might even be better). I love it and can't wait to listen more.
gotta hand it to this record for having really nice drum sounds. drums these days are often so compressed and wet with reverb, love that these just sound like a mic in a small room really emphasizes all the really good drumming.
Enjoying the first three tracks a LOT more than intersections. There's something about him that doesn't hook me but this isn't bad.
Have you listened to his older stuff pre-Intersections? For a while I wasn't big on IIOI but then 52 Weeks just clicked with me a few years ago and I've loved him ever since
This is really good, much better than intersections and probably better than proper, though I'm not sure I'll attach myself to it as much. We'll see!
Yep, I like Proper a bit. Midnight Carroll Street is his best song imo. But idk I can't get into his stuff a whole load. Like I loved T/T/T on release but I can't really listen to even that any more. I can't put my finger on it.
Excited to check this out. I still need to listen to Polica, Miike Snow and M.Ward's new records too. I'm so behind and I blame The 1975 for that completely.
I think i've gone through this over half a dozen times at this point. before i burn myself out, i need to listen to something else for awhile lol
I think I've listened to "No EQ" at least 15 times today. That and "Old Lace and Ivory" are album highlights for me
I thought this was okay on first listen. Better than Intersections, for sure. Need to revisit it tomorrow.
