I feel like it is too raw and loose sounding. I hate the drum production. I get that is what he was going for, but I think the previous 2 sounded better
I know he doesn't want to be grouped into the pop punk category, but some of the faster songs would have been stronger sounding if they weren't so raw
I think "Intersections" did sound better somehow, but had some songs that I didn't like as much as I started to like "Standards" in its whole :) and as far as I remember "Proper" was probably as raw as it can get at some points ;D
i did, but the chicago show didn't happen yet. From what i read you pick it up from the merch booth during the show.
This might be a long shot and if there is a better place to post let me know but I have two tickets I am looking to get rid of for Rough Trade in NYC on 6/12. Let me know if you are interested
Came back to this record about a month ago after my initial hype for it fizzled a lot sooner than expected, and now I love it more than any other release this year. I guess I just needed some time to sit.
I listened to it like 2 day ago as well, and it still holds up - actually it's one of my TOP 10 most-played this year so far. We'll see at the end of they year :)
