I forgot how good those b-sides (Malfeasance and What Is What are top tier) for El Pintor are... someone needs to stop letting Banks and Co. decide which songs get cut off records. Their track record ain’t great lol
El Pintor is fantastic. Solid listen all the way through. And again, some real strong b-sides from that album.
No, Belgium. It's the only album that's missing. I was going through their albums and noticed it when I wanted to play it.
I remember thinking that self-titled was released on a different label than the other albums, but I was mistaken. It looks like they made the jump to a major for OLTA and then came back to their prior label, Matador, for self-titled. So I have no idea. Maybe they were on a different label in Belgium with a different contract about streaming it something.....? Reading this thread had me listening to self-titled today.
the first half is decent to good. the second half falls off a cliff with some truly awful shit. always malaise, indeed.
I think Antics is still my favorite, but Marauder is really really fucking good. I listen to it all the time, with a couple tracks from the Fine Mess EP too. Every time I listen to my shitty quality vinyl rip of the song "All At Once" I am astounded that they left it off of El Pintor. Such an incredible song.
El Pintor is my dark horse favorite Interpol album. Before that is was always TOTBL with OLTA as a close runner up. Never really did vibe with Antics or Maeauder, unfortunately.
Antics took a while but I can now say is awesome Not Even Jail might be a top 3 track from them in my book
Post about an hour ago on their IG with a video and #lynchxinterpol releasing on 10/26. If they collaborated with David Lynch I’m going to be so happy.
I was hoping for a video in view of them collaborating with Merhige which led to one of my fav music videos ever
It’s gonna be fun when the NFT market falls through and a lot of people lose money on shit they never really owned in the first place.
