stumbled on this cos The AV Club reviewed it and goddamn how did I miss "Real Pain", that bridge is fucking unbelievable
This is definitely a way more diverse record than their debut and probably all the better for it. Nothing hit me quite the same way as when I first heard “How I Get Myself Killed” or “Home Team” but it’s an undeniable level up. So good.
Checked this out because of how much I love Hold U, not disappointed in the slightest that nothing else really sounds like it. This is a fucking good record. Die/Cry is a punch directly to the heart
Wish Big Thief was still on Saddle Creek so that we could get a god level Big Thief / Hop Along / Indigo De Souza label tour
y'all probably know already cos I am dumb and slow but I just found this EP she did as a side project and it fucking owns
I listened to this once and it wasn't as immediate as ILMM but I feel like it will grow on me. It's certainly very impressive.
Really great album - scratching a similar itch Great Grandpa did last year (I found it late) hold u should be huge
I didn't realize how popular she was but she sold out two back to back shows here and resale tickets are crazy expensive, it's wild
