I really want this to be great but it’s been 19 years since the band has put out anything memorable so… that’s unlikely.
A preorder for a record with no single, tracklist, or even a vinyl mockup let alone some variant information? Lolz
I don't think it's weird that some people might preorder the album just because it's a new album from Incubus.
I’m sure people will but I do think it’s funny and ridiculous nonetheless. At least show the cover art or something damn lol
His discography is nuts. Springsteen, AC/DC, Rage Against The Machine and so much more. I liked the ep that came out in 2020 especially Karma, Come Back so I'm up for this new release.
Bassist Nicole Row Hopes Incubus Can Revisit The "S.C.I.E.N.C.E." Era: "Everybody Wants It And We Never Give It To Them" - Theprp.com Really hope they let the newbie take the wheel. She's on to something.
Brandon sounds really rough at times, it's sad to hear. Think it's time to tune down the whole set like TBS just did Also the new album is postponed to 2026
Didn’t know about this announcement. Always excited to check out what this band does. SCIENCE through Light Grenades is an incredible run, imo. I think this bands quality output over time was tarnished due to lack of consistency after they stopped putting something out every 2-3 years.
That (Brandon’s glory days are seemingly over but he’s also turning 50 so..) and there’s something missing with Nicole on bass IMO. She’s a great musician, no argument there, but there was a groove that both Ben and Alex had to their playing that sounded/felt distinct and I’m not seeing that in any of the live videos I’ve watched. To be fair, maybe my mind will change on the new record if she’s given some moments to shine.
Tbh I don't know enough about bass playing to notice something of the sort. She seems like a great fit so far, but I'm also impatient to see what she adds to new material. The most frustrating thing about them is definitely their long gaps between releases post-Light Grenades. I know you can't force something if they're not all feeling it creatively, but it's sad to think they've only put out two albums and two EPs in 20 years. It feels like they went straight to being a legacy band only a dozen years into their active career.
They can take as much time as they need for a Brendan O'Brien produced album. It'll be interesting to see how their sound changes to accommodate Brandon's aged vocals.
I hope there will be some jammy sections. I feel like that’s been the biggest missed opportunity in their studio endeavors. No matter what form that takes, I just want to hear the musical chemistry like I did in “Sick Sad Little World”.
