wasn't there an interview semi-recently where he talked about the idea of directing remotely because he was in bad health?
He did, but he also said recently that no one would fund his projects. So he couldn’t really do anything.
I can’t believe this. His works changed my life. We live in a world where we will have no more new art by David Lynch. He always seemed so humorous and caring irl too.
For four years I lived three or four buildings down from the apartment where Naomi Watts lives in Mulholland Drive, I walked by it pretty much every night and and never stopped geeking out a bit even though working in this industry for so long has left me mostly geekless. Gonna have to go back to Twin Peaks: The Return as soon as I get home. Grateful to have that and everything else he’s made. A giant.
I thought about Trent a bit today because of this. I have to imagine this is as hard as Bowie’s death for him.
I would love nothing more than someone mentioning that I loved certain restaurants. “Damn, he loved Taco Bell.”
