Guy had iconic roles in pretty much every genre. Always dependable. What a loss. We’re losing too many elder statesman black actors too early.
CARL! Dammit. I got my photo with him a year ago at a FanExpo. He was jacked. Looked beyond healthy. Damn. it’s awesome he got to end his career on a high note with mando, including directing.
Just always seemed like a living legend. Kind, talented, and approachable. Also a great sense of humor.
This one is sad. MC5 were SO instrumental. Bad Brains and Rollins covering Kick out the Jams was great, at the time, for me.
RIP to comics legend Ramona Fradon. She’s probably best known for her classic work on Aquaman in the 1950s, during which she created the original Aqualad, and also Topo (the octopus from the movies). She also created Metamorpho (who will be in Superman: Legacy), and worked on Super Friends and Plastic Man. She was 97 years old and had literally just retired last month, still doing commissions and covers as recently as this past year.
