Cannot be overstated how good he was last year in both No Sudden Move and Many Saints of Newark. Guy still had so much left in the tank. This sucks.

his turn in something wild deserves mentioning as well. he commanded that shit

 

the movie is pretty mid but he’s good in place beyond the pines too

 

Goddamn. As a kid, I wasn’t allowed to watch PG-13 or R movies, so I basically knew him as the nice guy from “Field of Dreams” and “Operation Dumbo Drop.” My mind was blown when I got to see his best work later on. What a presence.

 

Damn, his performance in Goodfellas is one of the best of all time and my personal favorite. That movie got me into my love of acting and movies when I was younger, I'll be watching it tonight. He was also fantastic in everything else I've seen him in

Goodfellas was his 'wow' moment - the movie most everyone knows him from.

Frield of Dreams a close 2nd, IMO.... But Goodfellas was just shining from everyone, and the huge cast - his performance was just superb,.

Definitely one of those people where every time he showed up it was exciting

 

Copland was another good one (going through IMDB is reminding me of all the great movies he was in)

 

Liotta was and will forever be top tier.
