One of my friends from middle school/high school just posted this on Facebook. I remember his sister dying when we were college-aged, but I had no idea the below happened: Here is a great Bob Saget story you won't hear in the news. Apparently beyond being the lovable Danny Tanner, host of America's Funniest Home Videos, and a very funny and vulgar comic, Bob was also a very generous man. When my sister, Becca, passed away we worked to get a full scholarship in her name at Ball State University. The scholarship is given every year to a student pursuing music education. One of Becca's best friends had relocated out to LA and was neighbors with Bob. When Bob learned about my sister's passing and the scholarship in her name he made a very generous donation to support the scholarship that memorialized a person he never met. Thank you Bob!
Bob Saget's death is such a huge bummer to me and my circle of friends. Like so many of you, I grew up with the guy on Full House and America' Funniest Home Videos. He was always someone I was delighted to see in roles later on. The tributes from people who have worked with him have been so heartfelt and touching, it makes it all the more sad. I got to see him live back in 2010 or so at a college nearby. He was hysterical. My friends and I had an incredible time. I didn't go to school he performed at (I went to one nearby), but had friends there who worked with student activities and were both directly and indirectly involved with Bob during his time at the venue. They all couldn't stop talking about how kind and generous he was. Many comedians visited during the few years that I was in the area, and of all they worked with, he always stood out to them.
RIP… I’ll Do Anything For Love was all over the radio when I was a kid Edit: Forgot he was in Wayne’s World
