Gotta give the man props for his quick-witted performances up until the very end.

 

He was hilarious up until the very end on his late-night performances.

Don Rickles has had a bigger influence on me than just about anyone else. This is devastating.

 

RIP, ya hockey puck.

 

Damn, there goes a true legend in comedy.

 

Good God. I thought he was looking a bit gaunt the last time I saw him, but I had no idea.

 

Shit. Apparently his wife died too in 2009, and they have kids.

I remember there were stories about her being homeless and struggling a few years back,sad all around

 

I still forget George Michael is gone sometimes. I'll be listening to his music and thinking about how happy and inspired it makes me feel, and I'll wanna look up to see if he's on tour anytime soon and then I'm like oh. I liked the Chris Martin tribute but I still haven't seen any tributes I love and that makes me sad too because he has such iconic songs like made for a tribute show.

Wow, I just got done listening to Amy Nicholson talk about his craft on "The Canon." Crazy. Didn't know he had cancer.

 

You know, I really hate how often this thread has been getting bumped lately.

Demme was one of the greats. Some films, you never forget the exact place and time where you first saw them, how they made you feel, the thrill of witnessing something truly special unfolding before you. The Silence of the Lambs was one of those films for me. Which is to say nothing of the rest of his career. RIP indeed.

 

That's a real bummer. Going to start losing even more of the greats soon.

 

Demme was a legend. Ricki and the Flash was actually a great final film that didn't get enough love.
