Probably my least-favorite member of The Band on an individual level just because of all the ways in which he tried to screw the other members over. But after Harrison and Hendrix he’s probably the most influential guitarist who started making records between 1960 and 1980 and good lord his playing (and the songs he actually wrote as opposed to taking credit for lol) just does not age

 

no one has ever made pinch harmonics sound cooler

I usually save The Last Waltz for Thanksgiving but might have to pop it in these next few days.

 

Watching The Last Waltz. God damn, it's just Garth left. And for what it's worth, Robbie takes Clapton's lunch money at this show.

My brother and I have a whole shared playlist of sad / slow / serious Jimmy Buffett songs. Not that his party type songs aren't fun, but he was actually a damn fine songwriter and had so many great songs.
