I know of several people who have regal unlimited here and will just go blindly into whatever is playing at certain times. There was definitely an older lady in our showing who had no idea what she was getting into
For as much talk as there is about people not going to the movies, it’s pretty funny that it hasn’t stopped the people who basically just close their eyes and walk into a film they know nothing about.
People in front of me leaving hated it. The dude said it was too slow and the lady said she didn’t understand the bear monologue lol.
Found this to be a lot funnier on second watch. There’s also something oddly peaceful about a lot of the tracking shots with Johnny just plodding through the woods. The music on the cassette player slowly draining and slowing down is so good.
I loved this. THE kill isn’t even my favorite of the bunch. LOVED the one-shotter of the log cutter. How brutal to know what’s about to happen to you but you can’t do or say anything because you’re paralyzed? The concept worked for me on all fronts and I can understand someone being put off by it. Getting a kill and then stalking through the woods for a few minutes would wear on an average movie-goer. It answers the question of “what happens in between kills in slashers?” in a pretty practical and literal way. I found it utterly fascinating and the cinematography and sound design were ace.
I saw a review that said he definitely closed his circles on his Apple watch. Thought that was a good one. Also, if you guys like this, you should watch Sasquatch Sunset.
Saw this tonight and it was so good. It sounded like there was a few disgruntled people when it ended, but it seemed like everyone else was really into it the whole time. Probably the first time in awhile that I had a crowd enhance the experience rather than ruin it. Lol

She’s a horror fan but I think I did a bad job explaining the movie at first. Once I told her it was mostly in third person(I think?)she seemed much more intrigued.
This was really good. Clever and funny. Love how much it was in on the joke. I think it took me about 30 minutes to get on its wavelength but once I realized what it was doing I was all in. Especially once I realized all the “bad acting” was kind of the point and a riff a B movie horror. All the nods to genre tropes, really great stuff. Also thought the ending was great, kept in line with the conceit of the rest of the film.
Really cool to peep in on the movie you’ve seen a hundred times from the other side. also the “what are you waiting for’” nod to I Know What You Did Last Summer”. Loved that.
The first revival and axe throw from his knees being an absolute laser accurate head shot was so funny
