It felt odd last year for them to be touring on just the single but her production career makes money so I'm sure she was approached for something she couldn't turn down last year. She said at Pitchfork she doesn't have any sort of touring setup for production.
these songs are quite lovely. I should run through that last album again nothing really clicked besides the single. "Pool Hopping" still an incredible earworm
Found this to be pretty dull on first listen, unfortunately. Maybe it’ll grow on me but this feels like an album almost entirely composed of the type of tracks that never clicked with me on her last one.
I'm only one listen in but my initial take is that some of the previous stuff may have had higher highs, but this is the most consistent front to back.
Loving this record! She has such an ear for poppy irreverent songs. I think she is doing something unique within this era of female indie artists.
this is just about where I'm at, and I'm not sure if it's higher highs or just more variety. the other albums all had some times where it gets heavy and weird and the only track that comes really close to that here is What's The Fuzz.
Yeah I am very whelmed by this, it's just kinda there. I loved all three records before this top to bottom.
I like this but each project she’s released I’ve liked a little less than the one before. I’m not sure how much I’ll return to this.
This is exactly how I've felt. I've enjoyed bits and pieces of every album, but nothing has topped her first release for me.
This has definitely been growing on me the more I've listened to it. It's a great late-summer listen.
