This is excellent

 

I listened to this on repeat on my trip home today

 

Finally got to give this a few uninterrupted listens (love the shorter length), and yeah this is great. She can be so funny, almost a Courtney Barnett type of wit to her lyricism but more clearly rooted in a Long Island emo background. The melodies are great and I love how the songs swing from one style to another and back.

I'm pretty sure that even after a couple listens this is going to be in my top 10 at the end of the year. What a powerful debut.

 

Yes. I'm talking about the lyrics, which remind me of those from a lot of Long Island emo bands from the early 2000s. Same way I compared her wit to Courtney Barnett's wit, without saying she's from Australia.

And there's no need to be a jerk.

 

i mean, those influences don't really make that much sense to her based on what i know. i'm just stating facts

This is so great. The eclecticism reminds me a bit of that Great Grandpa album that came out last year.

 

this record is still unreal good

 

I love the poppy songs but I really love the slow songs. It's awesome how she's able to jump back between the two sounds so effortlessly and still leave us with an album that feels cohesive.

This album is pretty cool. Every time I think it's starting to get kinda boilerplate indie they do something super cool and get my attention again.
