BBC Radio 6 Music - Steve Lamacq, Independent Venue Week with BBC Music: Liverpool

They played a live session for BBC 6 Music last night as part of Independent Venue Week and in an interview prior to the set Joe said the album is done, just waiting on first mixes.

Expected end of summer/end of year. Makes sense as the debut only came out last March.

Also played a new song as part of the set called "Love Song" which a BANGER.

This track is so good. Can't wait for this one.

Listened to this while working out today and it was perfect for that. Now for a more focused listen.

 

Blown a hole in the wall here in the UK and Ireland. Sold out shows out the everything, album looks nailed on for a top 3 entry in the charts on Friday. AF GANG.

 

This is pretty cool. Not really what I expected at all. Parts of the instrumentation made me want to go back and listen to Pulled Apart by Horses.

Colossus is so fucking good it's unfair that an album has to follow it

 

Never listened to these (Although I saw them live in their infancy), but the lyrics sound like my kinda thing. Gonna listen to this on my lunch break in 5 mins and see what the fuss is about.

 

This is like if SLAVES were good.

 

Television and June are my favourites but I like a lot tracks on here. My least favourite is actually the opener.
