this makes me happy

 

amazed at all the sounds they are able to get out guitars and bass on this album

 

I liked ultra mono more than most, but this is miles above it.

 

This is cool. Idk if this band is ever gonna do what they did for me pre-Ultra Mono, but I'd say this is more interesting for sure. Really like the weirder twists and turns (the opening track, the singles, "Progress"). It will probably grow on me. Wasn't a fan of "Meds" though

Idk when I became so disconnected that I didn’t realize there was a new Idles record (and missed the entire lead up to the album), but what a lovely surprise it was this afternoon to hear Jimmy Kimmel say they have a new album coming out next week prior to their performance on his show.

Then to look at the date of the video and realize that today is the “next week” he was referring to and there’s the new album on Apple Music.

Album rollouts suck anyways I suppose

 

I just got a shirt I ordered today and I plan on celebrating with red wine and Crawler on repeat. Threw the shirt on, and poured myself a glass of malbec, and my girlfriend was like "Maybe don't wear your brand new white shirt while you wanna wild out and drink red wine"

Thank goodness she did. Time to rock Crawler and spill wine on my black pajamas. The shirt is the white wrestler moves one

I also love that she's always tolerated my listening of these guys even not being a fan of anything they've done aside from a few tracks pre-crawler, but has resonated with some of the slower and more atmospheric tracks from this album, mixed with their general style. It's neat seeing this band win someone over with something that might ordinarily alienate some of their older fans.

I've seen some articles talking about these guys being kind of a back seat thing and idk I don't get that. I think they're killer and their style is only evolving to catch new and old fans alike. I really like this record

 

1. Their feature on the new Tom Morello album is great, make sure you listen on Friday!

2. Crawler is their best album

Lol this is basically just an IDLES song, I'd have no idea Morello was involved if his name wasn't on there.

This album is just stunning

 

So I guess When the Lights Come On has become one of my favourite songs.

 

I CAN’T WAIT to see them on Halloween!
