A24 is the best home for this. So thankful netflix didn't get this. Can't wait to laugh my ass off in theaters when it gets released next year

 

Will be very curious to see how ITYSL's cult status translates to box office earnings.

Having seen both movies in theaters, I can attest to their abysmal box office take

tbf though, I feel both movies got more appreciated over time

 

I'd like to think A24 in 2025 would have a better grasp of how to platform an absurd comedy than a major studio would.

I was there in a very quiet room for Popstar, falling out of my seat laughing

 

I’ll always wonder how well or maybe not well “Palm Springs” would have done.

 

I was one of four people in the theater for Popstar on opening weekend. After the credits rolled, one guy stood up and loudly and sincerely declared “I have seen over 500 movies in my life and that was 100% the worst one”

 

Hot Rod is a top 5 movie for me

that’s like maybe 20 movies a year

 

Popstar is a 10/10 film

 

Is it douchey for me to assume that if you don't like Popstar, you don't understand the music world and/or celebrity culture? It's one of the best satires ever.
