his delivery of the alcohol class line gets me every time

 

I went back to some eps of Season 2 and still don't really like the Calico Cut Pants sketch. Goes on for sooooo long too. The impersonators hitting people, Blues Brothers and alien restaurant ones are underrated, imo.

 

I did a quick ranking after reading that vulture article and it was notable to me how consistent this season is, like stuff I was ranking in the bottom 3rd was still really good. I don’t know if the highs are quite as high for me but it’s probably still too early. Baby of the Year to this point is still the hardest the show has ever made me laugh on first viewing, but my other favorites didn’t become my favorites til I had seen them at least a few times.

Biggest miss for me this season are the Will Forte one and the Patti Harrison one. They both have good moments, but they both fall apart before the end for me and end pretty abruptly. I could see putting the VR one in that category too, but “I don’t know how to work the body” is gonna end up a classic line.

 

Watching now and Alien Restaurant might be one of my least favorites.

 

I love the Calico sketch for the Brody King cameo but it also has some of my fav ITYSL lines

 

I’ve seen a bunch of people put metal man pretty low, and it def feels the most like a retread given that the joke is basically chunky + karl havoc, but Sam Richardson has the best delivery and can make anything work. “That’s his ground” over and over been getting me every time.

Proposal park is good for similar reasons for me. I honestly hope Toilet Truck dies.

 

She was eating puke for school supplies? And you don’t even like the sketch?

 

My one problem with this season compared to others is the previous seasons had a little more variation in the characters. Like S2 had a lot of loud sketches, but it also had Crashmore, “I’m Joking,” the Shark Tank parody, the hat sketch. It seems like a lot of this centers around a character screaming and it tends to gets a little tired. Still very funny, but seems to rely a little more on the typical Tim Robinson formula.

 

The initial surprise of what he was doing got me good, but then especially when the guy got out of his car and tried to approach him and he just tried to play it off like he had no idea the guy was right there killed me.

 

The only miss for me this season is Street Sets. The ones that weren’t great to me before have grown on me (banana breath, dirty songs, etc)

 

Street Sets & VR were the two big duds for me this year

 

Yeah Street Sets was the biggest disappointment, no others felt like a true dud outside of like the second sip line montage.

 

The rat mom one still does absolutely nothing for me, and dirty songs eventually joined that tier too. Other than that pretty much every sketch gets at least one decent laugh

 

Rat mom is probably my favorite. the egg game one is close to it “I’ve never gotten this far”
It’s so subjective that it’s really not worth comparing lists.
idk if anyone else has this experience but I cannot get any friends to like this show lol. I’ve tried different sketches since season one and it just ends up being awkward. luckily my gf was the only one who likes it but that’s just going to make the break up harder

 

Street Sets I think is funny, but the way Armisen says "Jump Junkies Stunt Crew" feels like you can see the show's strings if that makes sense

 

I enjoyed Street Sets enough but I was expecting something a little more ridiculous from a sketch with Fred Armisen

 

I thought it would looking fucking real! Goddammit!!

I am actually trying to get into the Jump Junkies Stunt Crew

 

People saying VR is bottom tier is wild to me lol. Ayo’s delivery of “what…” is so damn funny to me.

 

I like when the stunt guy says "thrash me around" I laugh

 

VR is up top for me. "I'm just thinking about it too much."
