definitely don’t think ruben could have been the claire’s dude. or, rather, if he was, it would change the sketch. he should have replaced tim as the dude at the party with the impersonators though. can imagine him being like “at that rate, he can hit” so clearly

 

I would have wanted Ruben to play the Claire's sketch the same way it was played in the final version, I think having him go sincere like that would have been an interesting contrast with how he played his season 1 character.

 

i don’t want to say he couldn’t do it but the way he’s reinvented his entire online brand into basically becoming the focus group dude, i’m skeptical lol

 

That's why it would've been such an interesting swerve!

But yeah he also could've just played Doug in the Dan Flashes sketch if they wanted the same kind of energy from him.

I must have dozed off during my first watch of the initial Crashmore sketch, so the reveal that he was Santa happened off the cuff during the interview for me and I absolutely lost it. Was almost disappointed when I realized it should have already been known to me by that point, lol.
