I dont think the writing, last episode aside, had been good but there is a full writers room responsible for that, not just her. And even then my biggest issue has been a few of the performances, not Rachel.
To Hali’s point though it does seem like a show for the 2000s-2010s. Shows where the entire plot is just hanging haven’t really existed for a few years now or, at least in the case of adults and overcompensating etc., they’re on smaller networks and I think can benefit from not having the HBO ~prestige~ association attached to them
I love anything Rachel Sennot but after every episode I think 1. Maybe it's that I don't live in LA 2. Maybe it's that I am not young or sexy 3. Maybe I am not on TikTok enough 4. Maybe this show is just not funny 5. All of the above
yeah for a show with the setting in the title it feels like it could be set/filmed anywhere. pretty anonymous.
I think living in LA does the opposite of helping one appreciate the show. The show’s idea of LA is at the knowledge and experience level of a transplant who exclusively exists in industry spaces.
The board game scenes did a good job making me feel super uncomfortable With the mural, this might be the first ep where I'm like, oh? where are they going with this?
The thing that’s annoying me the most about this show is how many times they say oh my god in every single episode so far
i was expecting more to come from Tallulah vandalizing her own Ritz mural but i guess Maia still doesn't know. at least she's facing consequences for her behavior during game night, tho. i feel silly looking forward to drama in a comedy show. i guess we all kinda wanna see these assholes get what's coming to them or else it doesn't feel like satire anymore?
I mean Maia is selling her soul to make it and potentially losing Dylan in the process, I agree with everyone saying this could have benefited from a longer season so we can see how Tallulah can't just rely on being hot forever
wife started watching this without me and i've been intrigued by the stuff i've been around for. might have to make her restart it with me.
Finale was fine, felt very rushed though. Overall didn’t mind the season and I’ll keep watching because Rachel rules
liked the few before the finale but thought the finale was as terrible as the first few episodes, with the exception of alani's stuff
