I've been hearing SJ douchebag stories since 1997. I honestly have no interest in seeing them anymore unless they are part of a larger package tour that I'm interested in like this summer, which unfortunately was cut short due to the thunder storms hitting Jones Beach. SJ is basically Axl Rose with about 20% of the talent/legacy and has been able to coast off of two good albums for 20 years. Total waste now.

I saw that as well. If you do a search of Stephen Jenkins on Twitter there’s other post like this, dude sounds like a real scumbag. I saw a couple others about people being shown porn by him backstage, while they were underage, dude is super creepy. I wonder if the floodgates will open with more stories coming forward?

I've personally wrestled with 3eb for a while in terms of "good band, bad guy" – the first three records meant a lot to me, but I'm fine throwing them away in light of this.

Saw them recently with JEW. He's one of those guys where I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to learn he's got some really bad skeletons in the closet and it feels like my days of listening to and enjoying 3EB are numbered until something comes out.

As an aside, I'm pretty sure he didn't mention JEW or Ra Ra even once.

Unrelated but I went to see XEB (all the ex members) play a couple years ago for the 20th anniversary of self-titled and it was so good. Unfortunately, recently I heard Kevin had to drop out of that project as part of some settlement with Steven over royalties from way back in the day which sucks cos it was a way to enjoy 3EB without the baggage of SJ.

I saw the thing Kevin said. That really sucks. I wanted to see XEB if they came anywhere near me.

Obviously I can't speak for the rest of the dates, but at our show in San Francisco, he thanked both bands, and they had the violinist from Ra Ra Riot come out to play on a song or two.

    all we have is time

I'm pretty sure that tweet was pointing fun of the fact that his face was placed in the middle (alluding to how self-centered he is), not the fact that they weren't wearing any laminates

He said "Just the way these photos are arranged tells you all you need to know about that operation."

In no way is this meant to discount the talent of the band (because there’s tons), but I think many longtime 3eB fans have just assumed the band was pretty much Stephan at this point. After Kevin, and then Tony, the band continued to release good music. I’m sure a lot of that is due to talented people in the studio, sure, but Stephan probably picked/recruited many of them…

The sign is pretty ridiculous but also kind of a weird thing to get bent out of shape over placement of a photo. Either it was all Stephan, or that’s something he never even saw/cared about, and it was just printed up by production.

Met Stephen once at a meet and greet and I wish I never had. I was/am a huge fan of the band and meeting him in real life left a bad taste in my mouth - he was arrogant, bossy, mean spirited, didn’t want anyone to come close to him (so he “wouldn’t get sick”) and just didn’t want to be there/annoyed to have to talk to fans. He went in and out as fast as he could. He and Brad didn’t speak or look at each other the entire show and Brad walked off stage for the last song at which point the entire band was like WTF. He just ended the song, and just got up and left. Never came back out. Stephen made some snarky comment about “real musicians” giggling and just finished the set along with an acoustic song he had to put together quick. He sounded like a total dick.
