I don't know a single person between 28-35 who wouldn't be able to relate to this in one way or another. 'Success' is always a moving target, and even when a person achieves what they want, there's the inevitable 'now what?' moment/next five years to deal with.

To me, the main point I get is that it's hard to be in the music industry even when you're marginally successful. If this wasn't a play for sympathy, why did the author go out of her way to list the hardships in such detail?
