this was my first experience getting an album realllly early before everyone else and I don't know how I feel about it. I sort of like feeling that rush during release week and that impatience usually fuels me to binge listen to stuff too. I will say I give the album a spin often and I always enjoy it when I do. If you like Nathan's writing you'll love this album, he expanded his sound while still staying true to the aspects that makes him special as a song writer.
Hype doesn't mean I need to listen now. I probably won't even listen to that. I'll save it for the album on Friday.
alright I'm listening to this right now and I forgot how much I really love it. I took a step away bc I didn't want to over play it before it came out but I'm gonna play it like crazy again.. I got it in october and it really feels like a fall album to me.. especially that album art ha, but yea! can't wait for you all to hear this!!
Lake Michigan and Overflow are my favorite tracks, but the whole album is fantastic. I, like Teebs, got the album awhile ago but I still really enjoy it months later. It’s more tempered than his previous release but still so great.
Just from a recording/production standpoint everything sounds much better. The lofi dirtiness of Ground Me fits those songs well, but I love how clean this is. Especially with all those little synth embellishments through out
There's a little something in every song that's just so good. Runner up is great. Glad I didn't listen earlier this week.
I guess.. yea.... but there is a ton of stuff you can say that about. I think there are some incredible melodies on this though. I also think the occasional inclusion of drums and other instrumentation like synth helps the album not feel like it drags though. But yea, I guess the focus is more on the vocals and lyrics which has been done often.. but I don't think its trying to be a huge departure from that sort of sound, I think the album tells a story and it tells it effectively.
