Didn't think I'd be this into the idea of a new Hundred Reasons album after all this time but the single's great. Listened to it about eight or nine times already.
I gasped when I saw the announcement on social media, that was so unexpected. Song is great and feels like a nice middle ground between their last album, stylistically, and their earlier stuff, melodically. It's been years since I've given their full discography a listen so I'll have to change that.
New album is out today and obviously it fuckin rules and it sounds like they haven't missed a beat, even 15 years later.
I'm liking this so far. Echoing the fact it sounds like they never left. I found out the vocalist put out an album with another project a couple years ago, and it seems to be on the heavier side.
Saw them at Download Festival last week, where they were great, and been listening to them every day since. It's probably not quite Ideas Above Our Station — an album containing Answers, If I Could, Falter, Oratorio, and Silver is going to be pretty unbeatable — but this record is far better than it has any right to be, and contains some of the best songs they've ever written. The title track is an even better opener than I'll Find You. There's an almost tangible sense that the album needed to be made, that it sounds so vital, and the energy is obvious in the performances, that it couldn't not have existed. It feels that way not quite for the entirety, but for the majority of its runtime, I think. I remember that project starting, some time around 2009/2010, but they didn't release the album until a couple of years ago. I recall thinking the production let it down a bit; too thick and muddy in comparison to the old recordings, but I'd have to relisten to confirm.
I wish more people here would give this album/band a listen. I think they’d be very popular on this site.
Might be kind of a long shot, but does anyone have these tracks? Played their final show at the Royal Albert Hall tonight, supported by Rival Schools. An awesome time.
