Yeah, I think I'm gonna have to get this on vinyl.

 

I’d mostly just listened to You’d Prefer an Astronaut before this aside from one or two listens of Downward Is Heavenward, think it’s time for a deep dive.

 

Little Dipper is a perfect song. Always reminds me of driving around at night in college.

 

This is one of those records I can already tell I'm going to be listening to for the rest of my life. Instant classic.

 

As futile as it feels to pick their best song, since they're so much more album-centric than song-centric... gun to my head, that one's it. It's the blueprint for basically this entire new record, Deftones have said it inspired a lot of WP, etc.

 

Knife Prty is nearly the same riff. I’m not upset about it.

 

Yep. Chino gave a top 10 influential album list around ‘10 that had a bunch of great stuff on it. That’s when I fell in love with this band.

 

I grew up in beautiful New Smyrna Beach, Florida in the '00s and I heard the teal album a couple times and dug it. I will listen to this today

No clue it came out ten years ago lol. It had a bunch of stuff on it: HUM, Too Short, Depeche Mode, M83, Girls Against Boys etc.

man their tone is so wild. how they mix the extreme distortion with the clear chorus tone is wild. i thought for the longest time they were playing through a roland jazz chorus but that is not remotely the case lol
