DIH is top 10 all time for me. Isle of the Cheetah is one of my favorite openers ever

 

The riff in "Step Into You," the bridge in "Folding," just so many highlights here.

Everyone's already harped on it a bunch but I just can't fathom putting out a record this good after a 22-year hiatus. I hope they receive all of the acclaim and kind words they deserve

edit: yep, listening to "Shapeshifter" and just...in awe of how good this is. truly something I needed right now

 

Step into You is the most obvious highlight to me so far bc it's concise, upbeat and hooky in a way that sets it apart from the rest. This record, for all its sprawling glory, really would've been incomplete without at least one Stars/Green to Me type track.

 

I'm hoping we can say that for Jawbreaker in the next year or two.

 

Alice In Chains was 14 years and even with a new a vocalist.

 

But yeah, this album is fantastic

 

it’s kinda pointless. there are actually dozens of examples. the sonics went like 40 years lol. but this album should be the focus.

 

Actually, I've just listened to the Shiner album twice in a row after doing a discography run the previous weeks and... it rips. We're so blessed.

Going to give this one a second listen then revisit their previous albums as it's been a few years.

This is my first experience with this band outside of "Stars" but this is incredible.

some of y’all didn’t grow up in chicago in the 90s and honestly it shows

 

This kind of reminds me of Turnover in outer space with fuzz pedals

 

Some of the riffs on here are monstrous. The one they throw in on The Summoning around the two minute mark and then again at 4:19 just destroys.

I think I'd just about take DIH over YPaA, mainly because I don't like The Very Old Man.

 

this one could become my fav - it’s just so fucking good

 

Newcomers should just run backwards through the discog, it's not long and you really can't go wrong
