this is very much not the type of thing I listen to anymore but it’s hitting on pretty much every level. Immaculately recorded, that’s for damn sure

 

Every day is just another opportunity to listen to this record.

What don’t you like?

 

sounds too much like Gorillaz

 

I'm not sure. The vocals? I remember my friend getting really into Hum and Failure back when we were in early high school and none of their older stuff hit me either. I'm only on "Step Into You" (which I do like), but yeah. It's not bad, it's just not really my bag.

 

Cloud City is dope. Maybe I just need to get into them more.

Folding is dope too. Maybe I just didn't like the first few songs.

 

Waves is definitely my least favorite but I still like it, album is too good

 

I can understand someone not being into the vocals to be fair.

 

Folding will almost certainly be my song of the year and it ain’t even close

 

Any song on here is a valid choice and barring any surprises release this will be my AOTY

I think my favorite part of this album is when that clean lick comes in for the first time around the 5:00 mark in Shapeshifter

 

legitimately one of the most enveloping, immersive albums ive ever heard in my life. by the time i die this will be in my top 10 favorite records of all time, i guarantee it. i am obsessed and cannot stop listening. the riffs and tones bring isis and sleep to mind. but the vocals are so fucking soothing and calming. just fucking stunning all around. step into you is that track for me right now, huge isis vibes (later day) from that guitar.

 

6:30 to the end could be on a sleep record. fucking massive riff.

 

It’s so goddamn good. This album put me on a massive Hum/Sleep/Failure kick for a few weeks.

 

hah i listened to the sciences today for the first time since it came out because of this record. so great.

 

All three of them have had perfect reunion records. The Botanist slaps so hard

 

i love rock and roll, put another dime in the jukebox baby and play “cloud city”

 

Listen to Cloud City in the car every single day on the way to work and alternate between full on ugly sobbing and breaking my fuckin neck every time

 

The second In the Den started I was sold, the fucking tone on such a simple riff

 

I really need to grab this on vinyl

 

when this album dropped i was knee deep in an extremely dangerous relapse, it felt like i was barely grasping onto life for a week but i could not stop listening to this record. it kept me tethered to this world or something, i dont know, it was extremely spiritual and divine.

 

you into their old stuff at all? Downward is Heavenward is that album for me but kind of the opposite experience, I listen to it when I’m very low and anxious and it takes me to a place away from the noise and bullshit

 

years ago when i first discovered them i listened to their stuff but not since then, def gonna be doing a deep dive soon if i can ever stop hitting replay on this album every time its over.
