Because Comcast wants easy live action remake money like Disney and had slim pickings for "which of their animated films are actual beloved IP"

 

This is why no one should pay to see live action remakes even out of curiosity

I'm not even necessarily defending it being live action, I'm just confused by the "this is why" part of that statement. Not a fan of those actors?

 

Because disney's live action remake virus is now impacting the rest of the industry (people buying tickets even out of curiosity making them hits even though they are abominations) - this is the first dreamworks live action remake. Nothing to do with the actors i'm sure they are talented and will do what they can with what they are given

 

This coming out within a month of the How To Train Your Dragon land at Epic Universe opens is pretty clever synergy.
