Tom's brother Dan also suddenly passed away last night - his artwork is all over HTDW's work through the years, and apparently especially so with this album. Give this a spin tomorrow when it drops in memory of Dan.

 

My heart goes out to him and his family. That's incredibly harrowing, and will make the listen tomorrow more emotional than it already was.

 

Heartbreaking and eerie timing-wise, really sad

 

I didn't listen to any of the singles. I'm on the second track, Contingency/Necessity, which is amazing.

man, Song in the Middle is perfect.

 

Durutti Column vibes are extremely strong on A Secret Within the Voice - maybe my favorite on the record. the kind of song I want to last forever.

Just a beautiful album made even more powerful by his brother's sudden death. I cannot fathom that sort of loss and the timing of it all is especially uncanny.

 

the closing track sounds like love remains. it’s amazing.

 

Yep masterpiece. Album of the year contender, “No Light” is a song of the year contender.

There are so many great moments on this record, where the songs morph into some more (ending of On it and Around it, ending of Crypt Sustain, etc)

 

On It and Around It is inching its way up for me with each listen

 

This is starting to become "the one" on my list too, just an ascendant experience
