Nope. They were reassigned to a different position.

This incident was more terrifying and mindbogglingly Black Mirror -esque than the entire new season of Black Mirror.

i may get better but we won't ever get well Prestigious

if it were me, i'd probably just call up my family and send texts to a few friends. i'm slightly resigned to the fact that nation states don't give a fuck about massive loss of human life in the name of war.

I'm sure there are dozens of screenwriters in Hollywood right now writing a script titled '38 Minutes' which will delve into all the reactions.

That’s good. Too easy a mistake to make to be fired over, really bad design

If what PhillyD said was accurate, and this was all digital (with the click of a drop down menu) then I'm just speechless.

This could have been easily avoidable if they had protocols in place to double check before sending out a false alarm (sending everyone in the area into a mass panic).

From what I read though is that some good came from this. People were woken up to the fact that maybe they didn't have the best escape/safety plan because I remember reading a youtube comment about how they had friends who were scrambling for food the entire time until they got an alert saying it was a false alarm a literal couple minutes before the "bomb" would have dropped on them.

Actually, that award goes to both Logan Paul, "Dude, is that a dead body, bro!?" and YouTube letting not only that slide, but also Jake Paul's borderline pornographic thumbnail to be viewable for a few hours. I'm still livid at YouTube over their obvious practice of favoritism when it comes to their ToS. That Logan Paul video was flagged, reviewed, kept up (not even age-gated), and then promptly put number one in trending before Logan himself took it down because of all the backlash (and rightfully so) he was getting.

Although, having just reread this post (and yours) before posting, I missed the "was more terrifying" which could still work if you think about it. Especially with how both Paul brothers have little kids defending them, saying they did nothing wrong. Even pulling the excuse of it being just a mistake, and excusing his actions because he's a vlogger who vlogs his everyday life (that last one came from another youtuber who was moronically defending Logan Paul (although, I've seen that lame excuse used before by his young fans)).

I think we're actually getting a whole season of real-life Black Mirror because both were really messed up in different ways.

Idk i think it’s pretty easy to tell the difference between “test” and literally MISSILE ALERT by itself.

It’s more of an issue that they were right next to each other and misclicks happen all the time.
