Also can I just ask a really dumb question here: Is it pronounced Hovdy or is it a wacky stylised way of writing "Howdy".

 

I always pronounce it Howdy, like CHVRCHES is Churches

I can't help but pronounce it like Hovdy and Chvrches. Same deal with Pvris. I know it makes no sense but my brain won't read it otherwise. Stoked about this release though!

Yeah, so obviously gonna need to listen more than once (excited to write about this one) but it's safe to say Hovvdy season approaching. This thing is exactly what you guys want it to be. Gonna dominate Fall walks and bike rides and fires, etc.

I’ve never really been into these guys beyond a few songs but the Charlie Martin record caught my ear a little while back, and the recent singles have been stellar. I know it’s not on this album but Runner is amazing. Relistening to their old shit now to get caught up.

Been listening to Taster and Cranberry a lot lately, and between the slowcore melodies and some of the instrumentation, even the hushed vocals and production choices, they really remind me of You Can Play These Songs With Chords and Something About Airplanes-era Death Cab
